In Antibes, the Musée Picasso occupies the Château Grimaldi, a historic seafront building where Picasso worked in the autumn of 1946 and donated a significant body of work produced during that period. The museum holds one of the most important collections of his work in France.

There are several marine parks along the Côte d'Azur including the Parc National des Calanques, the Parc National de Port-Cros, and the protected zones around the Lérins Islands.
